My 2nd blog - that Brum game

Okay, now I have slept, here are my thoughts about yesterday's game.

First off, no top team has beated Birmingham at St Andrews - as Rafa would say "FACT"

Having said that, we looked tired - not surprising after last week's 10 men game against a very dirty Benfica and terrible referee.

However, I can't believe all the abuse Rafa is getting about substituting Torres.

Torres was not playing well - nothing was really being created.

When Ngog came on we created about 5-6 good chances - the fact that everyone is slating Ngog for missing about 3 sitters proves that chances were being created.

Watching the match on the net, I was tutting, sighing and holding my head in my hands after Torres went off - but not because he went off, but because we had so many chances to win the game comprehensively - we were by far the better team towards the end.

Don't get me wrong, I love Torres, and would always chose him over Ngog - but he didn't look at his best - and I believe Rafa made the right move - unfortunately it didn't quite pay off.

I suppose one upside, is that everyone is forgetting to slate Lucas!!

Anyway, I still believe 4th is a possibility, albeit now a very slight one.
It's Man City's place to lose.

Enough of my waffling, hope you agree or at least this adds positively to the latest arguements

The problem with Liverpool FC

Okay, time to put all my frustrations down in writing.

My beloved Liverpool FC have really let me down this season.

After last season, I expected SO much.

The problems as I see them are ...
  • Lack of passion and loyalty shown by several players and fans - all too eager to blame RAFA and certain players
  • Bad refereeing decisions having a detrimental affect on us (beachballs, blatant penalties denied, red cards), and also a beneficial effect to our competitors (offside decisions, dodgy penalties)
  • The FA for putting up with Fergie's verbal abuse, constant whingeing and comments which have indirectly lead to several bad decisions and referees changing the rules to suit
  • Over-reliance on certain players
  • Lack of funds to purchase cover - especially strikers! [Failure to score has been our greatest problem - we have bossed games, not scored but let in silly goals at the last minute]
  • Bad financial management
  • Bad choice of owners, for which Moores & Parry must accept the blame
  • Britain allowing USA to win War of Independance must take some of the blame for the 2 American idiots (and that's me putting it nicely, and holding back) in charge!!
  • Also time FA and EUFA sorted out the offside rule - when is a player interfering with play? We've had goals against us where the player not offside is standing in front of the goalie, but had the goal last week disallowed because Kuyt, who didn't touch the ball and was no-where near the goalie, was given offside - MENTAL!!!
Anyway, these are my first thoughts - now I've stated the obvious, got it off my chest, I think it's time to check out and go and have a nice soothing cuppa, before I get too angry and start to waffle (even more).

Cheers for reading - let me have your comments
